We arrived in Anchorage last night and are already enjoying the local wildlife - the three kids, too! Hidden away in the trees behind them (about one hundred yards or so down the road from my sister's house) we found a cow moose resting with her baby. We could just see the calf's ears wiggling above the foliage. We were cautious about going any closer as stories abound of protective mothers! Greg and Frank (my brother-in-law and step-dad) were busy smoking salmon. They'll smoke anything in Alaska - and it's legal!
