I'm finally posting some pictures of our trip to Dublin - after a month!! We had a great time even though it was very cold -We survived a snowstorm AND a protest! We left the city on Saturday to see the countryside and a "mountain" region. However, the roads were closed due to the bad weather and we had to be content with an alternative tour. Our day out kept us away from the big protest against the Irish government though - Ireland got hit pretty hard (the minimum wage was cut by one Euro per hour for the second time in a year).On a less serious note - here are some sights of Dublin...
Trinity College
Tough Dubliners! Both times we were on a tour, kids came out and threw snowballs at the bus! It cracked me up :) They would wait at an intersection where the bus had to slow down for a turn and then jump out and pelt the windows!

Dublin streets filling with shoppers and tourists. We were amazed at how many people were in Dublin - given the time of year and the weather. I imagine that summer is insane there.
The whole reason for our visit (for Murilo, at least)!
Enjoying our free Guinness at the end of the tour (which was great, by the way). Actually, Murilo was enjoying mine as well - even a Guinness in Dublin didn't change my taste for beer (though I received many assurances that it would).
It seems we aren't the only tourists who need reminders! This brought back memories of my trip to New Zealand many years ago - I was nearly killed 4 times my first day there. Luckily, in Dublin, there have been previous "incidents" and the city paints warnings right on the street! Of course, one must be looking down to be reminded!!
