Finally, I was able to participate in a weekend "commando" shopping trip to Poland! We met at the bus at 5:15 am Saturday morning. By the time we had picked up the others and got on the autobahn, it was 5:45.
After 7 hours on the bus, we arrived in Boleslawiec and our first pottery factory/shop! It was total nirvana :)
A bit overwhelming as you can see. This shop was arranged by pattern while the next was arranged by piece (all plates of all patterns together, etc.) THAT did not work for me!
Shopping cohorts and colleagues at the Primary School. Bonnie (in the center) started last year and teaches ESL downstairs to the 4 and 5 year olds. The other two started this year - Kelsey (on the left) is our IT teacher while Lynn teaches first grade (she comes from Houston via Moscow).
Our first interaction with the Polish people was a stop at the border. While Poland is considered part of the EU, they haven't adopted the Euro yet (which was great as a shopper) AND they still have "border control" - but only for tour busses mostly.
