Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye.

more images of Roma

I thought this was a truly Roman sight - ancient ruins, modern light pole and fencing, with some older gentleman taking a little nap. The guy was a little pissed that I took his picture.

Arch of Constantine (by the Coliseum). By the way, the construction of the Coliseum was financed by the pillaging of Judea - interesting. That, coupled with all of the people and animals that died there, made the whole Coliseum thing a lot less enjoyable.

Church of one-of-the-many-Mary-somebodies. This one was designed by Michelangelo and built into the ruins of an ancient Roman bath (of course, it would be a "Roman" bath).

The Piazzo de Navonna (??). We were following our own Angels and Demons tour!

The Pantheon at night (yes, that is the moon).

Back over by the Coliseum - the Roman Forum.

Crossing the Tiber River.

Finding a parking space if very difficult so most people drive these little scooters everywhere - even men and women in their business suits and dresses.

You can park these guys almost anywhere too!!!
