jessi's first days
And, I would be remiss if I didn't mention Jessica's first couple of days. She has an eight day rotating schedule - enough to make me crazy!! She seems ok with it. She is keeping it folded up in her pocket and refers to it regularly (as do all the students - they'd have to). She likes some of her teachers and thinks others are crazy - sounds normal. Right now she is helping Mrs. Sweeney in her classroom (sounds like old times). Of course, it is too far to walk over and help her mom!!! Most days she has an open period which gives her time to do homework, recopy notes, or just relax. One of the other new teachers (who we spent a lot of time with in the beginning) is her biology teacher. Ms. G (and outdoor enthusiast from Michigan) just came here from the American School in Bangkok, Thailand with her boyfriend (an ice hockey player/teacher from Canada). Spencer (the Canadian) told me he "saw Jessi at lunch making out with some boy, eh" Very funny!! They both really like her and she enjoys her biology class with Liza.

Sounds like Jessi is adjusting well. Emma got her schedule and freaked out - 8 classes with an early bird and a late bird. She will have to get up at 4:30 am to make it, and then stay late. She also has to apply to colleges, take the SAT and the ACT, work on an extended essay (45 pages) and do her duties as the ASB Secretary/treasurer. I advised her to email her counselor and get something changed - I won't be able to handle the stress! There is a fall feeling in the air. Making one last run down the river with J Rueter Monday. Took a day trip to Kimberly and picked peaches to preserve - a fabulous, beautiful trip. That's all for now. Keep blogging. We love to hear what you're doing.
